Annual Meeting Notes

On August 30, 2009 the school members met. Our annual meeting covered a lot of ground.

Charlie Mangum opened the meeting in prayer.
Charlie Mangum was nominated to another term as a board member
Charlie brought up the problem of having the board members do all of the organizing. We
decided to delegate some responsibilities to other members.
David Rentschler opened a discussion of our school Mission. His question was; do we remain
as we are, or become just a record keeping entity? Charlie at that point reviewed
what we are- Catagory 4 Church school. We have events that the school has decided
on besides just record keeping. We voted unanimously to stay what we are.
We set our events for this year:
October 23--- The Notgrass Presentation in the afternoon
The Annual Fall Campout /with ministry opportunity on Saturday
morning -paint the front of the church
Tim Heldman volunteered to be in charge of the entertainment for
the campout, and Karen Rentschler volunteered to organize the food.

January 16--- The Year End Review It was decided that the third Saturday in
January be designated as the day for the annual year end review.
Discussion ensued to make it theme based, or remain as an individual
student interest event. No decision was reached.

June----------The first weekend in June will be the Graduation when we have
students graduating. Unless out of familial necessity it must be
changed.

Tim Heldman brought up the question of ministry opportunity as a school.
Jeff Holeman reminded everyone that we have an annual opportunity in the
Inspiration Ministries camp in the summer. Ginny Yeomans reminded everyone
of the Jabez Ministry. We voted on the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child
shoe box ministry as an annual ministry opportunity. Melissa Goodwin volunteered as
the point person.
Micah Rentschler volunteered as the communications person for the school. Communication
was noted as a problem in the past so Micah will coordinate communication between the
bord and the members of the school.
Josiah Rentschler volunteered to remain in charge of the internet responsibility.
Improvements and suggestions can be directed to him.

The meeting was then closed.

How to become a post-er...

Hi everyone,
Ginny brought it to my attention that she could not post.... So upon researching the problem this is what I found out...
Everyone who would like to post needs to email me at melissaspins@gmail.com then I will send you an "invite" then just follow the instructions. Turns out you have to go through the hoops of getting a gmail account -it takes five minutes and is free, and you can use it just for our blog if you want or you can use it to use other blogs too. You have 30 days to do this once the invite is sent. If you don't get to it, it took me 7 months to get to my brothers, then just email me again and I will send another invite. Once we get this step done then we can start using this Blog to enhance our school experience! Any more questions can be directed to me at the above email.
Thanks
Melissa
